About the Role

As the Lifestyle Coordinator, you will engage and empower residents to actively participate in leisure and lifestyle programs that align with their individual preferences and goals. You will develop diversional therapy plans for individual customers, track customer participation in programs and incorporate innovative approaches to encourage participation. Additionally, you will contribute to the diversional therapy policies and procedures development, manage activities budgets and support Activities Officers to deliver therapy programs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborates with residents to develop personalised diversional therapy plans that address their psychological, social, emotional, spiritual and physical needs and integrates a variety of leisure and lifestyle activities to foster engagement, challenge, and personal growth.
  • Serves as a liaison with Registered Nurses and healthcare professionals to understand the clinical needs and limitations of individual customers and ensures diversional therapy plans are tailored to specific circumstances.
  • Provides personalised care and ensures safety, comfort, and active participation in leisure and lifestyle activities. Establishes and manages a volunteer program to enhance leisure and lifestyle initiatives.
  • Monitors customer engagement in programs, documents key observations and collaborates with clinical staff to implement necessary adjustments.

About You

To be successful in this role, our preferred candidate will have:

  • Diploma preferred; Lifestyle Management, Gerontology, Social Work is preferred. Any other related discipline or commensurate work experience considered.
  • Minimal experience as a Lifestyle Coordinator with leisure and lifestyle program customisation in aged care is preferred.
  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle, Diversional Therapy and First Aid Certificate are preferred.
  • Knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS) Practices and different cultural sensitivities.
  • Proficient in Program Management, Program Assessment, Customer Engagement, Activity Planning and Health and Wellness skills.
  • Excellent Customer Experience, Communication, Cross-Functional Team Working, and Analytical Thinking skills.
